Love

I’m falling
for an idea
a vision
a dream
an ideal
that involves
people
places
and things
encompassing more
than mere infatuation
living from the heart
not letting intellect
control the soul
being present
for whatever comes
after everything leaves
the superfluous
the frivolous
the incendiary
seemingly sinful
the same formulas
transformed
once enemies
now friends
integrated impressions
of here and now
no one knows me
now that I’m free
and no one cares
what I see
it’s more than okay
because today
is not your day…

it’s mine.

Mirrors

Show me
all inside
dark or bright
wrong or right
through fight or flight
or contested sight
challenge me
to an eternal dual
to unbind karmic ties
battles we both will lose
when smiles are too loose
with grins that binge
on games only two can win
that shows we made it
through it all
summers gone
chasing shadows in fall.

The Walnut Factory

As the pace quickens
my heart beat slowed
its disposition toward change
reversing damage done
when my quarter century milestone
celebrating my birth – marked my greatest death
hence my new found love for life
I miss them all, I hope they miss me
dead above ground
when darkened hearts
burst open from numbness, the madness
that haunts even the most devout
my problem is that I’m never afraid
especially not of those that place blame
that I am what’s wrong
that we are the worst kind of all
in a town of perfection
being too laid back because I knew all the facts
I forgive them all- full of themselves
word by word I absorbed
only to let go, no longer caged in that cell
for their heaven was my hell.
